Rajan Spolia's 0 Saquib Qureshi's Snake music Windsor Arts Centre, St Leonards Road, Windsor 8.30pm Thursday 11th December 1997 Tickets: f5, f,4 friends dk concessions Box Office: 01753 859336 Seriously hip, chill out vibes at the Windsor Arts Centre on Thursday 11th December at 8.30pm with Rajan Spolia on acoustic guitar and Saquib Qureshi playing the tabla (Indian drum). Their music, emotional and ambient, is a blend of eastern styles with a touch of folk and blues. With influences such as Ravi Shanker, Frank Zappa, dub reggae, and acid jazz they play a fusion of highly original instrumental music. Rajan Spolia and Saquib Qureshi met in October '96 and have since recorded two of their sessions which was released as 'Snake Music' in April of this year. Saquib is an accomplished tabla player with several television appearances under his belt including concerts with Nusret Fateh Ali Khan, one of the world's greatest devotional singers. Rajan has played with several bands at folk festivals and clubs and devotes himself to his music. His musical roots take him back to reggae, 23 Skidoo and On-U Sounds and he currently experiments and collaborates with other musicians.
